As some of you may know, Erin and I love to design our home to give it a unique look. We also like to design them so that we have a comfortable, relaxing place to retreat to after a hard day of work. The home we just sold was a diamond in the rough, and we took great pleasure in re-designing it to look more contemporary by adding new floors, new light fixtures, and painting the walls with some unique designs
Our new home in Norman is a duplex that we are renting. Most of the time, rentals cannot be altered (painted, etc) but the owner of the property is a friend of the family and has given us permission to do anything necessary to “make it our home.” We had considered not painting since we may only be there for a short time, but we decided to go ahead and transform the space into a more contemporary space – much like we did at our home before. We are going with blue and brown tones this time, and have sketched out several ideas. I’ll show you some before/after pictures when we’re finished. The challenge lies in main the space seem larger since it is a very small space. We plan to do this through some painting and furniture-placement tricks we’re picked up along the way.

I’m very fond of your color scheme. Maybe you and Erin could give me some helpful hints when you cruise through this weekend.
