wholsome pleasure.

I was at WalGreen’s this week on a very busy day trying to get a prop for one of my rehearsals  Starving, I cruised down the food isle hoping to pick up something to give me a boost.  I saw a box of what appeared to be very tasty oatmeal-type cookies (my favorite) – only these had raisins and caramel.  You can’t go wrong?  Right?  Wrong.  The “wholesome pleasures crunchy caramel raisin cookies” made by Labertz since 1688 were one of the driest, tasteless cookies I’ve ever eaten.  Don;t be fooled by the picture on the box, they do not live up to the hype.  The box has since been sitting on my desk.  Next time, I’ll go down the candy aisle – a much safer bet.  Always be cautions when the words “wholesome” and “pleasure ” are used together to describe anything.

  1. Those cookies were probably from 1688.

  2. Yes…I tried that whole “Pleasure” and “wholesome” bit for about a month. It didn’t taste to good to me either! haha! Hope you have a great weekend!

  3. I totally disagree. These cookies are great, especially if you’re looking for a healthy alternative to junk food. If you read the ingredients and nutrition facts you see that they are low fat, low carb and all natural. I lost 15 lbs eating these cookies as a snack. They are also inexpensive. I think they taste great, if you want something overly sweet stick to Keebler or Oreos.
