Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives

It seems that we don’t have much time to watch TV these days, but we record shows on our DVR and watch them when we get a chance. One new show we found on the FOOD Network that we enjoy is called, “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Diveswith Guy Fieri. Guy travels around the U.S. and stops in at some little mom-and-pop type joints where he showcases their menu and their owners, etc. He is a very funny host and adds a lot of humor. He reminds me very much of my good friend Jason from Orlando (Jason if you’re reading this, you should check it out). Guy is a chef and restaurant owner himself, so he brings a lot of expertise to the show and has some good insights. Mostly, he is just down-right hilarious. We like seeing the differnt types of foods that are made and it’s always fun to “travel” the U.S. without ever leaving our living room. It’s a new take on shows like “Rachel Rays – $40 a day“, and “Burt Wolf Travels & Traditions.” Erin and I give this show a thumbs up!

  1. I love mom-and-pop joints like those! Sounds like quality television to me.

  2. I am hungry now.

  3. The Food Network is the only reason we have cable. Too bad you can’t just purchase that one station. It’s one of the only channels you can let the kids watch and even the commercials are usually decent. We like this show as well as many others on FoodTV.

  4. Guy did a spot on a BBQ place there in OKC last season. Doug and Flick tried it out and loved it. Doug will have to give you the name. Speaking of food. I SO want to go to Ted’s!!!
