Costume Design

Let me take just a moment to brag on my wife, Erin, who is designing the costumes for my production of Into The Woods this summer. She has not only designed the costumes by compiling lots of visual research of colors, styles, textures, and lines, as well as rendering her designs in watercolor- but she is also constructing many of the costumes herself. Some costumes she is making from scratch, others she is buying a preexisting garment and embellishing it to fit her designs. I wanted to put some photos of 2 of the dresses she has completed, though I will not tell you what character they are in case you plan to see the show. I want to leave a little bit of surprise.

Mrs. G really has a knack for this stuff. Which productions did she design costumes for while you were at Gateway?

Well lets see if I can remember that long ago…I think she designed HONK! and…..that may be the only one she designed - Although we borrowed several costumes for that show. She had a part in some aspect of all of the costumes for the shows while I was at GHS.
