The Rover

The summer is over for me, and now it’s back to daily life at OU. This semester I will be teaching 2 sections of acting class again and I will be directing a play. The play is called “THE ROVER” and was written in the 1670’s by a female playwright. It was [...]

Productions Photos

I took this picture last night at rehearsal. It is not as good as the over 500 pictures my brother took of the show - check out the photos at davispix.com - click on “events” and “Into The Woods” to see some nice performance and behind the scenes photos of the production.

OCTAFest 08

This weekend I am teaching a directing workshop at the Oklahoma Community Theatre Association Festival. It’s a state-wide festival for community theatre managers, actors, tech folks, and directors. Busy, busy.

Above:  The set, under construction.  Before and after.

I just got back from leading a lighting design workshop, and now I shall rest.

It’s a [...]

Jenkins is great!!

We all have our favorite characters from our favorite TV shows. I usually like the actors who find a way to create different layers of their character throughout the series by finding creative, quirky physical and vocal techniques that make them stand out. One of my favorite shows, Scrubs, has many great actors [...]

My Resume Web Site

I have been seeing more theatre artists (actors, designers, and directors) make web sites that showcase their work for potential producers and artistic directors to see.  I have followed suit, and have published my first draft of my web site.  Once I get the kinks worked out, I will begin to include the web site [...]
